When we lived in Washington, we went to downtown Seattle and fed some of the homeless folks there every Christmas. Here in Tennessee, we've started a new tradition of helping the Salvation Army hand out their Christmas Angel gifts to the families who are receiving them. There's a huge warehouse full of stuff, and we find the right stuff and hand it out. It's amazing to see the gratitude on the faces of folks who would otherwise not be able to afford Christmas gifts for their kids. There are many tears as well as smiles. I'm so glad we've been able to find a new way to show our gratitude to the Lord for all we have by serving those in need.
