In Jan. 2014, Cara had to have a g-tube placed. It's a tube that goes from the outside of her belly directly into her stomach that we can feed her through. She just wasn't eating enough orally and we needed another way to get nutrition into her little body. It was not fun at all, and Cara was in the hospital for almost a week. But in the end, everything went very well and she's gained weight steadily since the surgery. Cara was a little trooper through it all, and even smiled a few times. In this picture, she had an n-g-tube going through her nose and into her stomach. She hated that and we were so glad when it was removed and the regular g-tube was placed. Being Cara's mommy is certainly a learning experience for me!
