Beautiful Bouquet

While I was running errands, Emily picked these "flowers", wrapped them in foil to make them fancy, put them in water, and taped on a homemade bracelet so I could have a nice surprise when I got home. I loved them, and she's just too cute for words!

Marq is 11!

Once again, we have 3 kids the same age. For a month or so, at least. Marq chose to get spend more money on gifts and skip a party this year. He wanted music! He's especially into Michael Jackson at the moment, and now has the girls singing along to Thriller too! For his birthday picks he chose: Lucky Charms cereal, taquitos and refried beans for dinner, and chocolate cake. He's such a sweetie and we love him so much. Happy Birthday sweetie!

The Lake

About 2 minutes down the road is Lake Sawyer. It's fun to be so close to a good swimming lake. The kids often head down that way with our teenaged neighbor and always have a great time!

4th of July

We had beautiful weather for the 4th of July this year, thank heavens! After the rain and cold last year, the sun was very welcome. We just hung around during the day (I cleaned, of course!) and then had our usual BBQ and fireworks in the evening. It was different this year because the 3 older kids had their own things going with friends so it was just Tim and I and the 5 younger kids. 5 kids feels like nothing! I missed the older kids, but was glad they could have fun with their friends. I hope we're all together next year though!

Great New Park!

On the way home from the Pacific Science Center, we passed a park we hadn't seen before. It looked so fun that after we got home we turned around and went back to play. Fun!

Pacific Science Center

Our membership to the Pacific Science Center was about to expire, so we decided we'd get in one last trip. As usual, everyone had a great time. Even Ellie and her boyfriend joined us. The Butterfly House was a favorite. Emily was so tired that she fell asleep on the way home. I love living in an area with so many great museums!

Bike Made for 3?

I don't think this is how you're supposed to ride a bike, but Brantley is always coming up with something interesting. They did this for an entire evening. Craziness! Next time I'll make sure Brantley wears his helmet...........

New Outfits!

For her birthday Ashlyn got this darling outfit from her good friend Aeris. Emily loved it so much that I got one for her too. Now they wear them all the time. I bet these will be their "first day of school" outfits this year!

Annie is 11!

I remember Annie when she came home to us as an adorable 2 1/2 year old who had no idea who we were. She was such a spunky darling little one, and we quickly fell in love. She's still spunky and darling, and we still love her! For her birthday pics she chose: Lucky Charms cereal, hotdogs for dinner, and chocolate cake. Happy Birthday honey!

Ward Party

The morning of Ashlyn's party, we had a great ward pancake breakfast and party. They did a lollipop walk, pillowcase races, egg races, and swam in the lake. It was a great way to start out the day!

Still More Birthday Party Pictures

Since I print out this blog every year instead of scrapbooking, I have to upload no more than 4 pictures per post or the program I use makes the pictures too small. So here are yet more pictures. Annie's birthday was the next day, so she invited friends too. Fun!

More Birthday Party Pictures

The bouncers and slides were so much fun! I even did the big slide and the kids thought that was very funny. Climbing up to it just about did me in though!

Ashlyn is 7!

For Ashlyn's birthday party she wanted to go to Bounce It Up like Emily did. It's such a fun place! Lots of friends joined us and everyone had a great time. I know I say this every year, but I just can't believe my baby is growing up so fast!

Growing Up

Marq got his Arrow of Light and bridged (advanced) from Cub Scouts to 11yo Boys Souts all in one night. He worked really hard for his Arrow of Light and we're so proud of him. Way to go, honey!

Ashlyn loves to sit and read to her stuffed animals and dolls. She says they're better listeners than her siblings. She's just so cute!

Orange Belts!

The little girls are finally old enough to advance in karate, and were thrilled to get their orange belts. They've worked really hard and had tons of fun. I'm amazed at what they can do!

Last summer Brantley and Marq colored each other with chalk constantly, and now this summer the girls are doing it. I'm so glad Annie is such a good sport!

Brantley, Of Course..........

Brantley is always doing something crazy, and this was no exception. This is what dryers are for, right?

Doggie Love.......

This poor dog is never left alone! Whenever he's out of his crate, he's hugged, carried around, kissed and constantly played with. Good thing he likes kids!

Mother's Day

Here I am doing what I love most - hugging my kids! I still marvel that I've been blessed with 8 children. There was a time when I thought I might not have any at all, so I'm grateful everyday for the opportunity to be a mom. I love you guys!

Here are the younger kids in their Easter outfits. Brantley decided and orange tee shirt and jeans was good enough. And Annie ended up changing her mind multiple times and wearing something else. They just make me laugh!

And Gymnastics at the Gym

Here are the girls at their gymnastics class. They're both so good at it and love it!

Gymnastics At Home

The little girls started gymnastics in the spring. The loved it so much they even practiced at home - with Brantley's help, of course. I'm so glad we didn't end up with any broken bones - so far!

And It's Still Going...........

Brantley got this battery powered jeep for Christmas when he was 2. It's been through 4 more kids after him and is still going strong. Maybe it'll be here for the grandkids?

Green Eggs and Ham?

Brantley is always doing something interesting. Here he decided to make scrambled eggs and color them green. We didn't have any ham, but green eggs were enough!
