On Feb. 22nd Ellie turned 20! I can't believe I have a child that old. She's such an adult who's very busy with college classes, a boyfriend, church activities and friends. She's grown up into a woman I really enjoy spending time with, and I'll miss her so much when she leaves home! Her birthday picks were: Honey Bunches of Oats cereal, tortellini for dinner, and Apple Streusel muffins from Costco for her cake. She went out on a fun date with her honey and is planning on doing her usual Deseret Book spree for her gifts from us. Happy Birthday beautiful woman!

Lexie turned 17 on Feb. 20th. She was going to go to downtown Seattle to shop for clothes, but decided she wanted a pair of boots she saw at Kohls and a chocolate fountain instead. Funny girl! For her birthday picks she chose: Reeces Puffs cereal, spaghetti for dinner, and white cake with white frosting for dessert. Don't you just love the hat? She didn't want to do her hair for her picture, so popped a hat on instead. Happy Birthday beautiful girl!
I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful husband. We're truly soul mates and I thank the Lord everyday for having him in my life. For Valentine's Day this year, he sent me a beautiful bouquet of roses. I usually tell him not to worry about sending me flowers - because they just cost tons of money and then die in a week. This year though, he sent them anyway and I was glad he did. I was in the mood for a little romance! We also got to go out to dinner which is rare for us and was wonderful. It was a very nice day!

For Emily's birthday, she only got 1 present from us this year. That's because the present was a huge Barbie house. She's been asking for one for awhile, and I finally found one that seems like it will hold up to lots of wear and tear. It came with lots of furniture (including a toilet!) and is very colorful. It's even taller that she is, and she loves it!
On Feb. 15th Emily will be 7, so yesterday we had her birthday party. We don't usually do big parties, but every few years the kids get to have a "friends" party and this year Emily and Ashlyn get to. We went to a place called Bounce It Up where there are huge bouncy houses and slides. The kids all had a great time, and I didn't have to deal with a mess at home! They got to bounce for over an hour, then have cake and watch Emily open her presents. It was lots of fun, and boy did they sleep last night!
3 1/2 months ago I decided to start running. I just wanted to get in some regular exercise and I hate the elliptical we have in the garage. I also have some very inspiring friends who run in spite of having very good reasons not to. So I started. It was hard at first, but I continued on, every morning, 6 days a week. And a funny thing happened. I started to love it! Now I miss my runs on Sundays when I have my rest day. I don't plan on entering any marathons, but I'm up to 4 miles now and if I had the time I'd be able to go farther. Yay for me!
I needed more time with the other kids' homeschooling, so at the end of Jan. we enrolled the little girls in 1st grade for half days. They were very excited to try something new. So far, they've been loving it, and I've been loving having a couple of uninterrupted hours to concentrate on the other kids. And they know they can come back home full time whenever they want to. It's a win-win!
